A Three-tiered Model for Differentiated Professional Development

We ask teachers to differentiate for students, but how do we differentiate for teachers? Professional development differentiation in Oak Ridge takes place in three parts: differentiated teacher in-service days, differentiated professional development on early release Wednesdays, and in-school, in-classroom coaching. Explore how differentiated professional development leads to empowerment, personalized improvement, and engagement with certificated staff, administrators, and support staff.

Dr. Kelly Williams is the Supervisor of Title I and Literacy for the Oak Ridge School District in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In addition, Kelly serves as co-chair of the District RTI team. She has also partnered with the TN Department of Education as a Teacher Leadership Network Coach, TN Early Literacy Network District Lead, content writer for Secondary Literacy Intervention summer trainings, and presenter at state level conferences.
