The Department is inviting applications for the Statewide Family Engagement Centers program to provide financial support to organizations that provide technical assistance and training to State educational agencies (SEAs) and local educational agencies (LEAs) in the implementation and enhancement of systemic and effective family engagement policies, programs, and activities that lead to improvements in student development and academic achievement.  The Department estimates it will fund ten Statewide Family Engagement Centers that:

1)      carry out parent education and family engagement in education programs, and

2)      provide comprehensive training and technical assistance to SEAs, LEAs, schools identified by SEAs and LEAs, organizations that support family-school partnerships, and other such programs.

Awards will range from $500,000 to $1,000,000.  The deadline for applications is July 30, 2018.  More information about the SFEC program can be found on the program webpage, including instructions for accessing the July 11th pre-application technical assistance webinar, links to resources that may be helpful in the development of an application, and program updates.

Thanks in advance for your help in sharing this information with you interested members and staff.

Happy Fourth!
