Chandra Brown serves as a Title I Instructional Specialist for Prince George’s County Public Schools. She has 21 years of experience in the educational arena and has held many positions serving students living in poverty. Ms. Brown has worked in Title I schools as a classroom teacher, Reading Specialist and Administrator. She has used the lessons learned from these positions to help develop her craft and strategies used to support her schools. For the past three years, in her position as an Instructional Specialist, she has been charged with providing schools with resources, assisting leadership teams in using data to make decisions and with overseeing the individual school’s Title I plan to ensure its implementation, monitoring and evaluation. In addition, she serves as the point of contact for Equitable Services and leads the Equitable Services team to assist private schools to implement an equitable Title I program based on the regulations in section 1117. Chandra is a graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University and has a Master’s in Reading Instruction from Bowie University, Bowie MD.
