The Gang’s All Here! Building Collaborative Family & Community Engagement in Our Schools

Thursday February 23, 2017
2:00 - 3:00 PM
Room 103

The Gang’s all here in Fort Wayne Community Schools! Being one of the largest public school district in Indiana along with a successful parent engagement program, the Fort Wayne community has been the recipient of and has supplied valuable resources for students and families. This is essential to reach the district’s goal to engage all segments of the community to support the education of young people. Successes will be shared such as the new Family and Community Engagement Center (FACE), resources to improve the health of the students, community programs such as Real Men Read, collaboration with the early childhood community in professional learning opportunities, the Ready to Learn, Ready Schools Initiative, family engagement events, District Family Advisory Council meetings, Families as Partners Annual Conference, as well as many others. Examples will be shared of how Title I funds can be used to support family and community outreach efforts.
