What is happening with English Learner (EL) Education at the national level? How can you get involved? Join us to for a brief history of the National Association of English Learner Program Administrators (NAELPA), formerly the National Council of State Title III Directors ( NCSTIIID), information about expanded LEA involvement, committee work, and benefits of membership in an organization which meets directly with the US Department of Education and offers hands on opportunities to impact EL Education.

Ivanna Anderson

Ivanna Mann Thrower Anderson has worked with English learners in the US, Korea, and China, for over 30 years, and has served students from the pK classroom through the offices of corporate presidents. The work she did as SIOP Coach in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system is featured in the Pearson SIOP Publication entitled Implementing the SIOP Model through Effective Professional Development and Coaching. In her current position at the NC Department of Public Instruction, she supports Title III implementation, professional learning and Dual Language/Immersion. Ivanna has a BA in Psychology from NCSU and a MAT in ESL from the School for International Training, Brattleboro, VT. and is the immediate Past-president of NCSTIIID/NEALPA.
